Veterinary Surgeon

The Hampshire Vet is a new independent small animal practice in Basingstoke. We started out as a mobile practice in 2022, whilst hospital standard premises were in development. Since then our team has grown from 3 to 21, with a dedicated night team providing out of hours support. Emily and Jamie are now looking for vet to join their proudly independent, growing team. You will join a growing team of experienced vets, nurses, health care assistants and reception staff.

The practice was born out of a desire to practice excellent medicine and to provide a truly personalised service to both patients and clients alike, while working in a happy and supportive environment. Emily and Jamie are developing a team that continually challenges themselves to provide excellent inpatient care, maintain high standards of evidence based veterinary medicine and provide outstanding communication. We want to work harmoniously as a family and ensure that we go out of our way to help one another.  We value the opinions of our team and believe The Hampshire Vet is a collaborative venture where everyone opinions matter. The Hampshire Vet will be a constantly evolving practice with plans of further development of our premises planned to match our growth.  We are invested in constantly adding to the equipment and resources available to the team and believe this is an exciting opportunity to join us at the beginning of our journey.

We are looking for a confident, experienced vet to join our team, ideally on a full-time basis but would consider part-time hours. We work a 40-hour week over 4 days with a set day off each week. Our Weekend rota is currently 1:4 (Sat 8am-7pm, Sun 8am-7pm). Out of hours care is provided by our own onsite night team. Salary would be commensurate with experience and range from £30-60k FTE. We actively encourage personal development and are willing to support certificates and advanced CPD.
