End of life care - pet bereavement service
When the time comes to say goodbye, we want you to know that we are here to support you and your pet every step of the way. The Hampshire Vet team will always care for your pet as we would our own and treat them with the care and dignity they deserve.
Some pet owners find it helpful to talk to our team before it’s time to make the decision to let their pet go. Understanding the options available and what will happen to your pet, and even making arrangements ahead of time, will free your thoughts up to focus on your pet when the time comes.
You can call or email us to arrange an appointment with our team to talk about end-of-life care.
Home care
When your beloved pet is ready to take their walk over the rainbow bridge, we can support their journey at our practice or in your home.
Pet cremations
We work with Dignity Pet Crematorium in Hook, who offer a compassionate and dignified pet cremation service. You can choose a communal cremation with other pets, or an individual cremation and have the ashes returned to you. They offer a range of thoughtful urns and other vessels.
Talk to our Client Care team about your wishes, and they can arrange everything on your behalf.
We’re here for you too
Choosing pet euthanasia is one of the kindest and bravest things you can do for your pet if their quality of life has deteriorated beyond an acceptable level. We are here to answer any questions you may have, although the final decision rests with you. Common questions we get asked about pet euthanasia are:
- How will I know when is the right time to say goodbye?
- Where will it take place?
- What happens during the procedure?
- Will my pet feel pain?
- What will happen to my pet after?
